Movement begins with Awareness

What changes when we listen to our bodies before we act? Discover new ways of experiencing movement, presence and the space around you through Listening Movement, a practice developed by Berlin-based artist and choreographer Nadja Haas.

The Approach

‘What happens when we first become aware – and then move?’

Listening Movement is not a choreography to be copied. The practice combines body awareness, improvisation and attentive exploration. Breath, weight, touch, sound and space become starting points for movement. The focus is not an achieving a perfect form, but on what emerges at the moment.

A New Way of Perceiving – Three Perspectives

We work with the body’s signals rather than against them. This can open up new ways of perceiving ourselves, other people and the environment around us.

01 / BODY

Listening
Within

Discover breath, balance, gravity and subtle impulses for movement. Becoming aware before trying to change anything.

02 / SPACE

Sensing the Environment

Explore how sounds, distances, architecture and
landscapes influence the way we move.

03 / CONNECTION

Connecting with Others

Through attentive exploration and playful improvisation, discover how movement emerges through interaction with others.
